- The UNSS Amity rescued a disabled Vulcan starship near Neptune, marking the first acknowledged encounter between Vulcans and Humans.[1][2]
- This data point was invalidated canonically by TNG movie: Star Trek: First Contact, which established official first contact between the two races occurring in 2063 under very different circumstances.
