- A USS Farragut survey mission, and later the ship herself, are attacked by a dikironium cloud creature on Tycho IV. Some 200 crew, including Captain Garrovick, are killed. Lieutenant James Kirk assumes command and sets a course for the nearest starbase. [1] [2]
- Teressa Allis, age 26, is elected as First Citizen of Merope IV. Allis will still hold the position in 2267. [3]
