- The starships USS Excelsior and USS Republic are dispatched to Altair VII to investigate an unknown entity attacking several locations there. [2]
- The starships Farragut, Exeter and Enterprise participate in wargames. [3]
- The crew of the Enterprise prevent a Klingon attempt to spark war between Chyrellka and Vancadia. In the process, they persuade Benjamin Finney to help counteract a plot he had helped the Klingons put in place to take over Federation starship computers. [4]
