• Pavel Chekov joins his former captain, James T. Kirk, for a mission to the planet Sanctuary in the Besar system, where they discover a secret Falorian base. They manage to stop the Falorian plans to invade their former homeworld of Huan. ^{[citation needed]}
• Praxis, a moon of Qo'noS and primary energy production facility for the Klingon homeworld, explodes. ^[1]
• Klingon Chancellor Gorkon is assasinated in Federation space while en route to peace negotiations. His daughter Azetbur is elected the new Chancellor of the High Council of the Klingon Empire, and continues his policies. ^[1]
• The Khitomer Accords are signed, opening an era where the Klingon Empire and United Federation of Planets are allies instead of enemies. ^[1]
