22 Ophiuchi was a star system, among the stars of the constellation of Ophiuchus in the Great Rift region of space, although observations of the system were actually a baited trap generated by an appearance of the intellivore. The Federation colonization mission dispatched to the planetary system disappeared; presumably it was devoured by the intellivore. (TNG novel: Intellivore)
