- As is tradition, Starfleet Academy scholars of the history of starships release an edition of Starship Spotter. The 2383 addition contains a cross section of the most important starship designs of the Federation-era.[1]
- Starfleet experiments with a near-instantaneous transporter, which takes only .02 of a second of operation. However, Human-analog test subjects suffer from pressure-related problems, and the technology is sent back to the drawing board at Daystrom Institute. [2]
