In the early 1980s, AIDS gave Gary Seven and Roberta Lincoln a lot of problems, which Lincoln would reflect back on in 1989. (TOS novel: The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh, Volume 1)

Seven and Lincoln were involved in the discovery of a vaccine for AIDS. (TOS novel: Assignment: Eternity)

In 2364, Dr. Beverly Crusher cited AIDS as one of the diseases which had been believed to be incurable. (TNG - Double Helix novel: Infection)
