Abernathy Kirk was a politician in England who lived during the 17th century. He was a distant ancestor of James T. Kirk.
In 2286, Captain Kirk told Klingon captain Kalrind about Abernathy Kirk's service during the Long Parliament under John Pym, and his subsequent service under Oliver Cromwell fighting the House of Stuart. Once the Stuarts retook the country, Kirk fled to North America. (TOS novel: Timetrap)
