Achen was a Human male serving in Starfleet as an engineer in the 24th century. By 2376 he was serving as a lieutenant in the engineering department on the USS Enterprise-E.
In April of that year, Achen answered a hail from the bridge for an engineering status report after the Enterprise was hit by a plasma wave in the Badlands. (DS9 novel: Avatar)
