The Advanced Starship Design Bureau (ASDB) was a body of Starfleet that designed starships and also conducts research, design reviews and systems simulations. ASDB's integration facilities are located at Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards and McKinley Station. (DS9 reference: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Technical Manual)
Thomas Halloway worked on the design of the Andromeda-class starship while working for the ASDB. (TNG short story: "Trust Yourself When All Men Doubt You")
