The Aerie-class was a type of Federation starship. The Aerie vessels were used for a variety of purposes, including service as surveyors and colony ships in both Starfleet and civilian service, in the mid-to-late 24th century. (Decipher RPG module: Starships)

The Aerie-class was commissioned in the year 2347. (Decipher RPG module: Starships)

Aerie-class vessels were designed to have a minimal crew complement, and a certain amount of space was given over to cargo bays. Because of these features, some Aerie-class surveyors were either refitted or built to serve as colony ships. (VOY episodes: "The Raven", "Dark Frontier"; ST video game: Armada II)
