Aex Rotherot was a Human, born in the 2240s decade. Rotherot served as a Starfleet officer during the mid-to-late 23rd century. Early in his Starfleet career, Rotherot served aboard a Miranda-class starship, and later expressed a sentimental attachment to that type of vessel. By the early 2280s, Rotherot had attained the rank of commander. By 2288 Rotherot was a captain and the commandant at Starfleet Academy. (TOS video game: Starfleet Academy)
Background
Edit
Rotherot's age was given as 42 and place of birth given as the Martian colonies in his personnel dossier for the 1994 Super Nintendo version of the game. In that version, as well as the Sega 32X, his name was spelled Alex. In the official credits, the PC version of the game and TOS novelization: Starfleet Academy, his name was spelled without the 'l' and pronounced "Ay-ex". It also appears the console version was set slightly before Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan since Kirk was still a rear admiral, and Rotherot shown to be a commander and teacher. The PC version of the game was set after Star Trek V: The Final Frontier and at least two and a half years before Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country when Rotherot was a captain and the commandant of the Academy. In that time period, Kirk was a captain and Sulu was soon due to take command of the USS Excelsior. Rotherot was played by actor Christopher Weeks.

- "During the course of your mission, your ship was lost. That is an automatic failing grade, I'm afraid you'll have to repeat the mission."
