An ahn-woon is an ancient Vulcan weapon, now used in rituals such as the koon-ut-kal-if-fee or kah-if-farr. It is a strip of leather with weighted extremities that can be used as a bola, slingshot or garotte. (TOS episode & novelization: Amok Time; TOS novel: Planet of Judgment)

Both T'Prynn and Sten used the Ahn woon weapons as they fought each other. (VAN novel: Open Secrets)

The strip of leather is 15 centimeters wide and 30-40 centimeters long. This weapon can also be used as a whip. The Ahn woon is also becoming popular in the area of space known as The Triangle. (FASA RPG module: Star Fleet Intelligence Manual)

On Stardate: 14093.5 a Vulcan security officer captured a Cardassian Obsidian Order agent by using the Ahn woon to entangle his legs. (TOS comic: "Enter the Wolves")
