The Ajilon system was a star system that was located near the Federation-Klingon border in the Beta Quadrant. Although the system was disputed by both powers during the 23rd century, by the 24th century, the system was under Federation control.

During the brief war between the two powers in 2373, the Klingon Empire invaded the system. Fortunately, the Klingon forces withdrew when the cease fire that had been negotiated was reinforced. (DS9 episode: "...Nor the Battle to the Strong")

In the mirror universe, the system was under control of the Terran Empire in 2277. Following his ascent to Grand Admiral of the Imperial Starfleet, Spock ordered that the ISS Constellation and a small attack force proceed to the system to bolster defenses for a possible Klingon assault. (TOS novel: Glass Empires: The Sorrows of Empire)

In 2381, during the Borg invasion, the USS Tempest and its battle group were diverted from Ajilon to Qo'noS. (ST - Destiny novel: Lost Souls)
