Alejandro Montenegro was a male Starfleet officer in the late 24th century.

During the Dominion War, Montenegro received a battlefield promotion to the rank of commander. After the war, at the age of 25, he was assigned as first officer of the Federation starship USS Gryphon, under the command of Captain Elaine Mello.

Sometime prior to August 2376, Montenegro became host to a Bluegill parasite, killed Captain Mello and attempted to use the Gryphon to make a retaliatory strike at Trill (planet). He was discovered by Colonel Kira Nerys and killed by her during a fight in engineering. (DS9 - Mission Gamma novel: Lesser Evil)
