Ensign Altoss was an Efrosian female who lived in the 24th century where she was a Starfleet security officer aboard the USS Aventine.

After the runabout USS Seine escaped from the Aventine by blowing out the shuttlebay doors, Altoss was a member of the boarding party to recover the runabout after it passed through a subspace tunnel ending in the Azure Nebula. (ST - Destiny novel: Gods of Night)
