Amritsar was a town located in India.

In 1984, it was the site of an attack on the Golden Temple in which thousands were killed and a library full of holy scriptures was destroyed, leading to the assassination of Indira Gandhi. (TOS novel: The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh, Volume 1)
