Anab Saed was a Human female of Somalian descent who served as a Starfleet officer in the 23rd century.
In 2268, Anab met and fell in love with fellow Starfleet officer, Lieutenant Kevin Riley, who was teaching at Starfleet Academy on Earth. As the relationship with Riley deepened, Anab decided to postpone her choice to move out into space and remained on Earth with Riley, and eventually took out a one-year marriage contract with Riley in early 2270.
However, the relationship came to an end some months later when she saw that Riley was holding himself and her back in their lives, and she accepted a posting aboard the USS Starhawk. (TOS novel: The Lost Years)
