The Ancients were the name of the forerunners of the Varden culture on planet Vrinda.

The Ancients taught a code of violence and vengeance, as demonstrated in the saying, "blood calls to blood." The Ancients were also noted for making prophecies. In accordance with these prophecies, natives of Vrinda who were born with a genetically anomalous third eye were elevated to the role of advisor to the leader of the Varden.
