Andorian ale

Pouring a glass of Andorian ale

Andorian ale was a blue-colored alcoholic ale-like beverage produced by the Andorians. (ST reference: Star Trek Cookbook)

In the 2150s, Captain Jonathan Archer developed a fondness for Andorian ale. In 2153, Commander Shran gave Archer several bottles of the ale as a gift. (ENT episodes: "Cease Fire", "Proving Ground")

In 2269, Leonard McCoy commented: "I'll say one thing for the Andorians, they sure brew one hell of a hooch". (TOS short story: "Empty")

Andorian ale was served in Quark's on Deep Space 9. In April 2376 Quark suggested Morn talk to Shar about methods of hair growth, whilst keeping them liberally supplied with Andorian ale. (DS9 episode: "Meridian"; DS9 novel: Avatar, Book One)

Thavanichent th'Dani procured some real Andorian ale from Quark to serve at a dinner with Shar, Vindizhei sh'Rraazh, Shathrissia zh'Cheen and Charivretha zh'Thane, who hated replicated Andorian ale. Anichent thought that Quark might have overcharged him, but changed his mind when he tasted the ale. (DS9 - Mission Gamma novel: Twilight)
