Aneta Šmrhová was a Human woman, a Starfleet tactical officer who spoke with a Slavic accent.

Biography[]

She was born in the Czech city of Ostrava. (TNG - Cold Equations novel: Silent Weapons)

By 2381, Šmrhová served aboard the USS Enterprise-E as a relief bridge officer. She was in the command center when the Enterprise traversed a subspace tunnel with the USS Aventine to end up near the Carina Arm, and detected energy signatures matching Hirogen vessels on long-range sensors. The two Starfleet vessels were unable to escape before the Hirogen attacked. During the assault, the console Šmrhová was working at began to overload and she was pushed out of the way by T'Ryssa Chen before it exploded. When the Hirogen hunters boarded the ship, Šmrhová and second officer Miranda Kadohata escorted the junior officers off to the observation lounge and appropriated TR-116 rifles from junior security officers; the Hirogen still assaulted the bridge, and the two again tried to aid the escape of Captain Jean-Luc Picard, an action that was unnecessary after Worf and Jasminder Choudhury defeated the boarders. (ST - Destiny novel: Mere Mortals)

After the ship returned to the Azure Nebula, Worf and Šmrhová conferred on the rear of the Bridge, monitoring the sensor reports. After they confirmed the readings, Worf reported the more than seven thousand Borg cubes deployed across Federation, Klingon, and Romulan territory. (ST - Destiny novel: Lost Souls)

Šmrhová survived the Borg invasion of 2381 and continued to serve as a relief tactical officer on the bridge of the Enterprise through the ship's various assignments handling the refugee populations created by the invasion. (TNG novel: Losing the Peace)

Lieutenant Šmrhová served as acting executive officer during the Enterprise's mission to the Galor system while Worf, Geordi La Forge and Choudhury were all absent from the ship. She was promoted to security chief following the death of Jasminder Choudhury. (TNG - Cold Equations novels: The Persistence of Memory, Silent Weapons)

In 2384, the Enterprise-E was dispatched to join the USS Newton in destabilizing the Nexus. After the Newton was sabotaged, it was discovered that the ship had been infiltrated by an Orion spy. Aneta and the security officer of the Newton, Haln, were able to locate and capture the spy. (TNG eBook: The Stuff of Dreams)
