Anesthizine is a gas that works as a fast-acting anesthetic drug.

In 2266, when the USS Enterprise crew became infected with the same plague which was sweeping Alpha Proxima II, the ship was flooded with anesthizine gas to temporarily halt the disease's progress. (TOS - The Brave and the Bold, Book One novella: The First Artifact)

In 2379, when members of a rebel Klingon group Klahb attempted to take over the Federation Embassy on Qo'noS, Ambassador Worf was eventually able to subdue them by reactivating the security system and pumping anesthizine gas throughout the building. (TNG novel: A Time for War, A Time for Peace)

SpellingEdit

This drug is spelled "anaesthezine" in The First Artifact and "anesthezine" in A Time for War, A Time for Peace.
