Angela Martine was a Human female who served in Starfleet in the 23rd century. In the mid-2260s, she served aboard the USS Enterprise as a weapons specialist (2nd class).

In 2266, Martine was engaged to be married to Robert Tomlinson. Martine - who was a Roman Catholic - requested that when the ceremony was conducted it reflect her religious upbringing. Captain Kirk was unfamiliar with the specifics of such a service and asked Spock if it would be similar to other Christian services. (TOS novel: The Autobiography of James T. Kirk)

In late 2266 as Martine was about to be married to Robert Tomlinson the Enterprise received a distress call from Earth Outpost 4. The wedding was postponed, but later took place during a lull in the battle between the Enterprise and the ChR Gal Gath'thong. Unfortunately, during the ensuing battle, Tomlinson died after inhaling a lethal dose of toxic phaser coolant. (TOS episode & Star Trek 1 novelization: Balance of Terror)

The following year, Martine accompanied a landing party to survey Omicron Delta IV (the so-called "Amusement Park planet"). During the visit she was believed to have been killed during an attack by an aircraft, but it was later revealed that she was treated for her injuries by underground machinery. At this time, she was romantically involved with Esteban Rodriguez. (TOS episode & novelization: Shore Leave)

By 2269, she was a full lieutenant and served duty shifts as a communications officer. (TOS episode & novelization: Turnabout Intruder)
