Arati Mhevet was a female Cardassian habitant on Cardassia Prime. She was a senior inspector of the Cardassia City Constabulary.

Early Life and CareerEdit

Mhevet was born in North Torr, a close-knit and insular part of the wider Torr district. However she and her father were forced to leave when Mhevet reported her uncle to the Obsidian Order, and they subsequently lived in East Torr. At a young age, Mhevet joined the constabulary, first serving under Reta Kalanis. However, whilst first jubilant at the civilian government of Meya Rejal, Mhevet left the Constabulary in disgust and horror at Rejal's use of Skrain Dukat's troops to suppress and massacre political protestors in the capital. She lived with dissadents in East Torr, including Coranis and Irian, but kept in touch with Kelanis. When the Jem'Hadar began to massacre the population of Cardassia at the end of the Dominion War, Mhevet worked with Kelanis to save as many people as possible, fighting a street-by-street battle with the enemy as the city fell down around them. After the FireEdit

Kelanis recruited Mhevet into the new Constabulary, treating her as a protege. Mhevet would work closely with the Federation on Cardassia, becoming close to Margaret Fry of the Allied Reconstruction Forces as well as other Starfleet and Federation units stationed on the world. During this time she began liking coffee, ikrit buns and other Federation products - a passion she shared with Kelanis. Her return to the police was seen as a betrayal by some of her old activist friends.

In the years after the war Mhevet attempted to take down Velok Dekreny's gang in North Torr, by running a slow-burning operation. (ST - The Fall novel: The Crimson Shadow)
