An arc welder is a device primarily designed as a repair and maintenance tool. One was found aboard a Dreadnought Gunship by the USS Voyager's Hazard Team in 2376. The arc welder proved to be an effective weapon in rendering targets unconscious, either by using the less powerful, tighter primary fire or the more powerful wider area effect of the secondary fire.
