Politics
Edit
During the mid-23rd century, Arcturus IV was a haven for thieves, criminals and malcontents from all over the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. In 2264, the Klingon renegade Koronin obtained a Klingon Bird-of-Prey after beating its captain in a game on Arcturus. She renamed the ship Quundar, and set off for the Federation Phalanx to wage war on the Federation. (TOS novel: Enterprise: The First Adventure)
As of 2271, Arcturus was still an independent world without government, stubbornly resisting joining the Klingons, Romulans, or Federation. It was technically inside Federation territory, but avoided by Border Patrol and Starfleet. It served as a neutral meeting place for humans, Romulans, and Klingons. The planet had joined the Federation by 2273.
Planetary Information
Edit
Astronomical Data
Edit
Arcturus IV is a planet in the Alpha Quadrant with seven moons. Once every six years, three of Arcturus's moons would be full at once. This was considered a mystical time by the natives, when "very strange, very wonderful" things could happen.
- Star Charts puts forth that the planet is in the Alpha Quadrant.
Geography
Edit
Arcturus IV's general climate is classified as warm and temperate.
Natural History
Edit
A native animal is the Arcturian dog bird.
Behind the scenes
Edit
According to The Lost Years, as of 2271, the world was still anarchic and independent; however, The Entropy Effect indicates the planet was already part of the Federation in 2270.
