An assault fleet is a grouping of ships brought together to attack a military target.

The Federation Alliance assembled an assault fleet (which included the USS Defiant and the IKC Ki'tang) to stop the Dominion and the Breen from retaking the Chin'toka system. (DS9 episode: "The Changing Face of Evil")

Several weeks later, the Allies assembled another assault fleet to launch their final offensive against the enemy at the Battle of Cardassia. (DS9 novelization: What You Leave Behind)
