The assay office was a facility on the Promenade of Deep Space 9, used for the storage of valuable items.

In 2376 Prylar Istani Reyla opted to not to entrust the assay office with the secret location of the Ohalu Prophecies which she had hidden on DS9. She instead paid Quark to keep a data rod with a clue to the book's location. (DS9 novel: Avatar)
