A diplomatic conference (which was planned for six months ahead of time) was scheduled to be held there in 2369. The USS Enterprise was scheduled to arrive, but was delayed when investigating the death of Richard Galen and the DNA program. After rejecting Galen's offer to come on his archaeological expedition, Jean-Luc Picard lost his enthusiasm for the conference, though Starfleet was relying on Picard to serve as a mediator. In 2376, it was listed as the host location of a current or past marathon. (New Worlds, New Civilizations short story: "The Footfalls of Tradition")
