August Macke was a Human artist who lived in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

In an alternate timeline, Commander Chakotay mistakenly theorized the non-existent organization called the Maquis had named themselves after Macke. (TNG short story: "Gods, Fate, and Fractals")
