Auron was a Changeling who lived by the 24th century. In 2372, he along with Selann met Odo and attempted to convince him to rejoin the Founders. At the time, Odo was part of an infiltration mission in the Gamma Quadrant and used an excuse that the Federation was inviting the Dominion to peace negotiations at Deep Space 9. Auron stated that he was older than Odo and that in time, the young shapeshifter would change his opinion about Solids. (DS9 novel: The Heart of the Warrior)
- The Female Changeling demonstrated that their race had no use for names which meant that Auron either used it to identify himself to other species or was like Odo and a former member of the Hundred thus retained a name from his time amongst another civilization.
