Ayem-Sud wine was an alcoholic beverage produced by the Yemai people of planet Sigma Niobe II. Though not a true wine, it was nonperishable and able to be carried on long sea voyages without need for refrigeration. Leonard McCoy became very fond of Ayem-Sud wine during his stay on Sigma Niobe II, and had considered how to bring the greatest amount possible with him aboard the USS Enterprise without violating the Prime Directive. (TOS short story: "As Others See Us")
