In late 2376, Jake Sisko met her when he went on a walkabout across Bajor. The two fell in love, and after a short courtship and engagement, they were married. In 2381, Korena was on Earth with her husband when his grandfather Joseph Sisko died and later informed Benjamin Sisko of the news when he arrived at Sisko's Creole Kitchen. (ST - Typhon Pact novel: Rough Beasts of Empire)
In an alternate timeline in which Benjamin Sisko became trapped in a subspace field in 2372, Korena also married Jake and lived in New Orleans with him until their divorce. They married in Sisko's Creole Kitchen, the New Orleans restaurant owned by Jake's grandfather Joseph Sisko. Their wedding guests included Kira Nerys, Jadzia Dax and Miles O'Brien
