The Bajoran lightship (also known as a sailship) was a craft used by the Bajorans that employed solar sails to use light pressure as a form of propulsion.

Bajorans used lightships to explore the space surrounding Bajor, with some reaching Cardassia after being propelled there by tachyon eddies in the Denorios Belt. The Cardassians admitted they had salvaged wreckage of such a vessel in 2371. (DS9 episode: "Explorers")

The Shabren-class was one class of lightship. (CCG set: Tenth Anniversary Collection^{[citation needed]})

In the 22nd century, Akorem Laan was piloting a lightship when it entered the Bajoran wormhole and was sent forward in time to 2372 by the Prophets. (DS9 episode: "Accession")

In 2371, Benjamin Sisko built the Baraka, a replica of a lightship. With his son Jake, Sisko proved that the vessel could reach Cardassia, although only with help from the tachyon eddies to propel it. (DS9 episode: "Explorers")

Lightships have also used by the Bajorans of the mirror universe. Annika Hansen once created a holographic representation of a lightship for Intendant Kira Nerys. (ST - Dark Passions novel: Dark Passions, Book One)
