A baobab is a type of tree plant lifeform native to the planet Earth.
In the year 2269, during the battle between Spock and Spock One on Organia, Captain James T. Kirk (due to the effects of the thought-shield) saw Spock One sitting in a baobab-like tree above a flash flood. The tree rotted, causing Spock One to fall into the water. (TOS novel: Spock Must Die!)
