The Battle of Gamma Hydra was a military engagement that was fought in the Gamma Hydra sector between the forces of United Earth and the Romulan Star Empire during the Earth-Romulan War in 2157.

In 2157, Captain Jonathan Archer led a flotilla consisting of the Enterprise and the Daedalus-class starships USS William Clark, USS Cowpens, USS Gettysburg, USS Jein, USS Lovell, USS Nez Perce, and USS Okuda to Gamma Hydra in search of a Vissian outpost because he believed the Romulans would attack the outpost.

Archer was successful in finding the Romulans and fought them. The fleet was moderately successful but sustained heavy damage in the fighting and was only succesful in driving the Romulans back with the aid of a Vissian fleet. Unfortunately, at the end of the day the Vissian outpost was destroyed along with the Jein, Okuda, Nez Perce, Cowpens, and William Clark. (ENT - The Romulan War novel: To Brave the Storm)
