"Beak-nose"" was the name used by Rod Portlyn for a male Chelon archaeologist in his employ in the mid-2370s.

"Beak-nose's" real name was never revealed. He is described as "a reptilian of Rigellian origin," suggesting he may have been a Chelon, who also have beaks.

As of 2377, "Beak-nose" took part in an archaeological dig on an unnamed planet believed to have been the homeworld of the Briavian civilization. Following the discovery of a piece of powerful ancient technology on the planet, and subsequent abandonment of the site, Portlyn took "Beak-nose" on as a pilot aboard his private yacht, the Astral Maiden (CoE eBook: The Art of the Comeback).
