The Bedouin were a nomadic tribe on Earth, who lived in the desert regions ranging from the Rub al-Khali in Arabia, across the Negev and Sinai, and westward across the Sahara.

The Bedouin would find water in the desert by digging up rocks, and licking moisture from their undersides. Khan Noonien Singh learned this trick, and used it to stay alive during his years on Ceti Alpha V. (TOS novel: To Reign in Hell: The Exile of Khan Noonien Singh)

The Bedouin were able to remain a distinct group into the late 23rd century. Starfleet Ensign Faisal Prince often spent his leave among the Bedouins of his native Saudi Arabia. (TOS novel: Vulcan's Forge)
