Ben Bova was a Human science fiction writer.

In 1953, a story by Bova appeared in an issue of Galaxy. Looking at the magazine, Herbert Rossoff commented that his name would complete the lineup of Bova, Robert A. Heinlein and Cordwainer Smith. (DS9 novelization: Far Beyond the Stars)

In the episode, Rossoff mentioned Ray Bradbury rather than Bova.
