Bersallis III was a Federation research colony. It was home to six hundred colonists of twenty-eight species, including the Pandrilites. This planet cycles through six and a half years of good times seperated by firestorms that envelop the planet. These firestorms get over three hundred degrees centigrade with winds of over three hundred and fifty kilometers per hour. This colony was used to study the effects of high-atmosphere plasma on airborne flora. This was also the first place to synthesize diberylium and identify seven varieties of bad bacteria. Red and silver flakes of tridianite and sorbomite were also found here. The colony itself was protected from the firestorms by a shield grid.
