Bilanans were a humanoid race native to the Alpha or beta Quadrants. They were distinguished by facial knobs -- seven on natives of the northern continent, and four on those from elsewhere. A Bilanan woman was among the merchants in the Maltabra City bazaar on Farius Prime in 2336. (TLE novel: Well of Souls)

TNG episode "New Ground" establishes the planet Bilana III, which may be the homeworld of the Bilanans. However, the one native seen was not identified as such, nor was he depicted on-screen with prominent knobs on his face. It is unclear whether or not a connection between these two races was intended in this novel.
