Bilitrium was a rare, crystalline element that, combined with an antimatter converter, could become a powerful energy source. (DS9 episode "Past Prologue")

The element was also capable of being placed in a grenade for use as an explosive. When used in such situations, the weapons leaked anti-protons. (DS9 video game: Crossroads of Time)

There was an abundance of bilitrium on Koltaari, prompting the Romulans to attempt to annex the planet in 2311. (TLE novel: Serpents Among the Ruins)
