Ensign Bill Johnson was assigned to the USS Enterprise hangar deck. His paternal grandfather was a Tarl from Epsilon Indi. This bit of genetics made Johnson green, tall, and smart. The downside was that he had in ingest copious amounts of alcohol and avoid all acids while on duty. (TOS novel: Planet of Judgment)
