Blemin (aka Blemin the Bard was a male Ferengi playwright who lived over two millennia ago. He is noted for writing "The Strange and True Tragedy of Ving and Ding, the Timber Boys", or "Once a Weevil", a dramatic adaptation of the popular Ferengi folk tale, "The Story of Ving and Ding". This play was one of the earliest written accounts of that story.
Blemin's often ended his plays with clever morals. The moral at the end of this play, "You can't free a fish from water," later became the 217th Rule of Acquisition. (DS9 reference: Legends of the Ferengi)
