The Bonhomme Richard-class (or Bonhomme Richard-subtype), also known as the MK-XIA class, was a sub-type of the Constitution-class heavy cruisers and were ordered for Starfleet appropriation on stardate 3220 (mid-2260s). (Reference book: Star Fleet Technical Manual)
