The Brain is the control center of the central nervous system, it is typically housed in the head of most animals.

The brains of Humans, Andorians, Bolians and Bajorans are susceptible to the low-level energy waves generated by Harmonic diamonds, these waves stimulate areas of the brain associated with primitive emotions, including anger, envy, and greed. (TNG comic: Captain's Pleasure)
