The brains of Humans, Andorians, Bolians and Bajorans are susceptible to the low-level energy waves generated by Harmonic diamonds. These waves stimulate areas of the brain associated with primitive emotions, including anger, envy, and greed. (TNG comic: "Captain's Pleasure")
