Brolok was a Ferengi male and a Grand Nagus of the Ferengi Alliance.

When the scribes of the Sacred Illuminated balance sheet were preparing to print their one thousandth edition, they asked Brolok for a parable to illustrate the tenth Rule of Acquisition, "Greed is eternal". After he was given his latinum, Brolok told them "Some rules need no explanation", which became the most expensive words ever spoken on Ferenginar. (DS9 novel: Legends of the Ferengi)
