For other uses, see Prakesh.

The CDS Prakesh (CUW-8481) was a 24th century Cardassian starship, a Galor-class battle cruiser warship of the Cardassian Union's Central Command. Prakesh was commanded by Gul Skrain Dukat in the 2370s decade. (CCG set: Deep Space Nine, card: "Prakesh"; Decipher RPG module: Starships)

Service history and disposition[]

In the year 2371, the Prakesh rendezvoused with the USS Voyager and the CDS Vetar to take the latter's crew aboard after it was damaged in the Badlands. The Prakesh later towed the Vetar back to Cardassian space. (VOY novel: The Badlands, Part III)

In 2372, Gul Dukat commanded the Prakesh on a mission to remove the Detapa Council from Cardassia and the Klingon invasion and rendezvous with the USS Defiant, so that they could remain in safety in the Federation.

Unfortunately, the Prakesh was attacked by several Klingon vessels at the rendezvous point and destroyed. Fortunately, Dukat and the Council members were beamed aboard the Defiant before the final explosion. (DS9 episode: "The Way of the Warrior"; CCG set: Deep Space Nine, card: "Prakesh")

Background[]

It is not entirely clear if Dukat commanded one warship or multiple vessels over the years before the reformation of the Cardassian government in 2372. In the majority of his canon appearances, Dukat was not depicted commanding a ship of his own, but instead traveling in the company of others, giving the implication that situations where he did have a ship might only have been a series of temporary assignments.

It is possible that some or all of these appearances actually depict the Prakesh, but appearances where the vessel was unnamed are listed at Dukat's warship for the purposes of this wiki. These also might be appearances of the CDS Ravage, which he was shown commanding in DS9 novel: The Siege. It is also possible that "prakesh" is the Cardassian language word for "ravage" and both or all three might be the selfsame ship.
