Lieutenant Commander Caitlin Barry was a female Human Starfleet officer who served as chief engineer aboard the USS Enterprise in the 2250s. She was in charge of engineering when Lieutenant Junior Grade Montgomery Scott first reported for service as an engineer in the year 2253. Barry graduated from Starfleet Academy in 2243 and excelled at photon acceleration technology. (TOS novels: Vulcan's Glory, The Rift)
